  • Unlocking Your Creative Potential: Why Ignoring Your Sparks is Holding you Back ✨

Have you ever felt inspired to take a photo of something while on a nature walk? OR maybe you felt like creating an abstract painting? Perhaps you wanted to decorate your home in a certain way, or write a novel? Whatever your preferred medium of artistic expression, the feeling within you is always the same. It's a little internal spark of excitement and a buzzing mind that suddenly ignites inside of us, making us want to drop everything and put all of our efforts into following it. However... We often transform ourselves back to reality and come up with excuses as to why we shouldn't pursue our creative passions. These excuses are often rooted in a fear of embarrassment or a lack of skills to make our creations successful in the eyes of society. Or perhaps we feel too busy with other things, and the idea of adding something fun and non-productive feels overwhelming and impossible to make time for. But let me tell you... Creating through any and all mediums is incredibly important for us as individuals, for our growth, accomplishment, expression, emotional release, and for humanity as a whole. We are creators! ✨ We were built to create! 🫶 We all have beautiful skills and gifts that we often ignore or neglect. And ignoring our creative sparks has a huge downside... When we let these sparks go unfulfilled for years and years, all of that energy builds up inside of us, making us feel blocked up and heavy on the spirit. Creativity releases different kinds of energy that show up in our bodies and lives. Through creative expression, we can release this energy in a beautiful way. Creativity allows us to work through our problems, release any stagnant or negative energy, experience emotional release, heal, and grow. Through our creative expression, we get to express ourselves and inspire others to create, collectively contributing to the healing and inspiration of the world. May Your Soul Blossom in Love and Art, Karla

  • Natural Cold & Flu Remedies + Recipes 🌿🍵

Today I'm going to share with you me favourite, tried and tested cold and flu recipes that are tasty and work by strengthening the immune system. They have been in my life since I was a kid - my mum is amazing with herbs and has many homemade remedies up her sleeve. I've been making these for years myself. In the beginning I used them to get rid of a cold I already had, but since then I've been making them solely to strengthen my immune system over the dark, cold, winter months. Natural Cold Fighting Ingredients: Lemon Ginger Garlic You can use these ingredients in any way you wish, as long as you add them into your diet during the autumn months you should feel the positive effects. Natural Cold and Flu Remedies Recipes Fresh Lemon & Ginger Tea Serves 1 Consume: Daily Ingredients: 1/2 fresh lemon 2.5cm piece fresh ginger Method: Cut the ginger, with the skin on, into thin slices and place into a mug. Pour hot (not boiling) water into the mug. Squeeze the lemon juice in, then place the squeezed lemon into the mug too. You can make this in larger quantities and brew it inside of a teapot. Raw Garlic Sandwich Serves 1 Consume: Daily or 1 week long 'marathon'. Around September time, have a full week where you'll consume a lot of garlic on a daily basis, this will strengthen your immune system and you won't have to have it daily. Ingredients: 2 raw garlic cloves 1 pinch of sea salt 1 slice of bread/rice cake/your prefered choice of base Method: Mince the raw garlic with the salt. Place it on your choice of bread, you can butter the bread if you prefer. Enjoy! :) If you haven't had raw garlic before, you might be in for a surprise - it tastes amazing! Raw Garlic Avocado Serves 1 Consume: Daily Ingredients: 2 raw garlic cloves 1 pinch of sea salt 1 avocado Method: Mince the raw garlic with the salt. Place it in a bowl with cubbed avocado, mix with a little extra sea salt and black pepper. Enjoy! :) Echinacea Tea Serves 1 Consume: Daily Ingredients: 1 tsp dry echinacea flowers or storebought teabag Method: Place echinacea into a mug. Pour hot (not boiling) water over it. Let it steep for 3mins. Now it's ready to drink. Enjoy! :) Rooted in Soulful Self-Love, Karla

  • The Quest for Self-Love in a Filtered Reality!

During my childhood, glossy magazines showcased flawlessly photoshopped celebrities, casting a shadow of inadequacy upon my self-perception. These images wounded me deeply growing up and carried their weight until my adulthood. The decline of print media brought a sigh of relief, I hoped these distorted images would fade away and new generations wouldn't have to grow up with these unattainable standards. Little did I know, the rise of technology brought in a new era where strangers, peers, and even our friends and family meticulously filter their faces daily, increasing the distortion of reality. I yearn for a digital realm infused with authentic, unfiltered beauty. I dream of a day where genuine faces shine through, supporting collective healing and a sense of worthiness. The younger generation, born into a world of instant access to airbrushed perfection, meet an unrealistic standard of beauty maintained by friends, family, and everyday people. It's a surreal image that we've collectively accepted, preserving an unattainable ideal. While I understand why people choose to use these face distorting filters, I hope that we can collectively work towards self love, worthiness and acceptance to cave a new way for our peers, younger generations and complete strangers, to accept our natural beauty and encourage others to do the same. Let's work together to create a new standard that values authenticity and self-acceptance. To my younger self, let me whisper a truth: You are beautiful just as you are. The images you behold are illusions, mere figments of a digital design. Even the celebrities don't resemble those perfected portrayals in reality. Embrace your uniqueness; revel in your innate beauty. Don't compare yourself to illusions or to others; you are a living, breathing masterpiece in a world hungry for authenticity. What I’m Doing Now? Updated August 9th, 2023, from my parent’s home, in Scotland. It’s the middle of summer here, I’m still waiting to see the sun. Hi! This is Karla from May 2024, just dropping in here to say that I've been working on this site for maybe a total of a week over the past year (I know, I've been prioritizing other things). I'm going to allow this page to sit here as is for now, which also allows me to work through my perfectionism. In the past, I'd let things like this stop me from moving forward, but no more! I'll update it as soon as I can. :) Travel Plans: I’m getting ready to travel through Europe for the next three months. We’re going to visit Holland, Germany and Poland. I’ll get to see some family on the way, but especially my granny, who I can’t wait to see. I need to tidy up the van, book the ferry, book a hotel in London, to visit my sister on the way, fix a few things in the van and minimise my stuff - I don’t own a lot of things, but I can always have less! How’s Rusty Doing: The van needs major rust work done. I can’t find anyone in Scotland who does this kind of work. I’m now planning and organising to carry out the work in Europe. Creative Expression: I’m on a journey of allowing myself to creatively express my inner feelings, emotions, state of mind, connection, and soul. I love to express myself through self-portrait photography, and I’m slowly dipping into video work too. I'm working through not allowing the fear of judgement or my mind to talk me out of it. Expanding My Business: I’m working towards utilising my skills as a website designer and branding specialist, to elevate the voices of the change makers and world healers. I’m building products that will help fierce and connected women to share their gifts and knowledge with the world in a way that gets them noticed and grows their businesses. Cultivating Playfulness : I want to bring more fun and play into my life. I’m scheduling small blocks of time to do fun activities like candle making, arts and crafts, sleepovers with friends, camping trips, and embracing the joy I feel in the moment by jumping over puddles if I feel like it. Learning About Womanhood: I’ve lived in the masculine energy all of my life. I don’t know what the feminine energy version of me looks like. I’m now exploring and working to connect with my female energy. Learning to dance alone, and allowing myself to feel in the body and fully express through movement that feels beautiful. Bringing more sensuality into my life. I’m learning about my cycle, to understand myself more and know when my feminine is at most present. Celebrating My Period: As I’m learning more about the wisdom of our womb and the female power, I’m slowly surrendering to listen to my own inner wisdom. I’m going to try a raw cacao ceremony soon. Raw cacao is a heart opener and helps to bring to light the messages from within. Books I'm Reading: The Code Red - Helping me to understand my period and the magic of all phases of my cycle. The Artist’s Way - Helping me uncover and heal my creative blocks. Typography - Learning about the history of lettering and typography that we use today digitally. Focusing On Health: I’ve spent almost 10 years learning about health and nutrition. I’ve played around with biohacking for a couple of years now. I now know what works and what doesn’t, and don’t need to test as much anymore. I can now fully implement all the things I learned that make me feel the healthiest in my mind and body. Drinking More Water: S eems that most of us are severely dehydrated, and that’s not because we don’t drink enough water - it's because we don’t absorb the water that we drink. That’s because the water doesn’t contain any of the minerals that allow our bodies to absorb it. I tried many things over the years, but haven’t found anything that works most of the time. I’m currently testing with salt. I think it’s working so far, but too soon to recommend it. Removing Sugar From My Diet: For a while now I’ve been playing around with reducing sugar in my diet. On the periods of time when I don’t consume any I feel great. As soon as it gets re-introduced back into my body, even with a small dose, it creates cravings and mind fog. I was able to quit ice cream, sweeties, chocolate and everything in between. I switched to dark chocolate, but the tiny bit of sugar in it is becoming problematic, I need to find a sugar-free dark chocolate. Creating A Personal Online Corner: I’m finally putting the time into creating this website and refocusing what I share online. I want to bring value to you, and I also want to express my inner artist along the way. What you see online from me is a combination of both and my messy path to getting better at self-expression and art. Music I’m Listening To Right Now: I’m currently connecting with music that moves me and connects to something deep within which evokes deep emotions. Some of those songs are: Blessed We Are - Peia Haseya - Ajeet Jericho - Iniko Circle Of Women - Nailini Blossom

  • About Me | Karla Zero

About Me I have created this online space to reconnect with my inner artist, explore photography, and improve my writing skills. My goal is to share my knowledge about womanhood, personal growth, creativity, alternative lifestyles, freedom, biohacking, and the inner workings of our minds. Everything I share is true at the time of writing, and as I change and evolve, the opposite might be true. I’m A Recovering Artist Since I can remember, I've had a love for drawing. According to my mum, I was always content with just a piece of paper, some crayons, and a cup of water. I would draw for hours until I fell asleep right on the table. I wish I had a photo to remember those times! As I got older, my love for drawing remained, and I started to notice myself improving. I would fill notepads with drawings of Lara Croft, my all-time favourite game character. (oh yes, I'm a big gamer!) Fast forward twenty years, and I found myself struggling to create art, feeling blocked and resistant . This led me on a journey of self-discovery where I uncovered a wounded artist and a wounded child within myself. Now, I am healing and reconnecting with my inner artist, allowing myself to create again. But Hey, Don't You Do Art For A Living? For a long time, I believed that I was fulfilling my creative desires. I attended college to develop my skills in art and design and was accepted into the Art School at my University where I specialized in animation. With a degree in my pocket and gaining some experience in games programming, I landed a job as a games artist in the industry. However, after a few years, I desired a more independent lifestyle and decided to become a freelance graphic designer - a dream come true! Although my work requires creative abilities, it is primarily focused on psychology and strategies, with the end goal of being functional and serving a specific purpose. While it may appear creative on the surface, design is not necessarily a means of self-expression. I Don’t Consume Mass Media Our minds are highly vulnerable to external influences. What we expose ourselves to can have a lasting impact on our thoughts and beliefs. I'm very careful about what I allow into my mind. For instance, I s topped watching TV and listening to mainstream music many years ago because I believe that words and messages can become internalized. Instead, I choose to seek out music and art that speak to my soul and evoke positive emotions. This way, I can discover my truth and not be swayed by external media. Things I’m Working On Learning to love myself. To feel my feminine power. Introducing more sensuality into my life. Stopping negative self-talk. Progress over perfectionism. Creating more - 100day posting callange Putting myself first. Find out here What I'm Doing Now More About Me I’m curious - I have a curious nature and enjoy asking questions about everything in life. I’m interested in the world that surrounds us and I love learning how everything works and connects. I take pride in being told that I have a "child-like curiosity." I looove learning - Learning is a passion of mine, and I would happily take a job that involves continuous learning and knowledge consumption. I find that learning expands my mind, improves my creative problem-solving skills, and makes me more capable in all areas of life. I’m a slow thinker - I prefer to take my time to process and analyze all angles and possibilities. My best thinking and problem-solving happen when I journal. I’m a multitasker - I can tackle multiple tasks simultaneously with ease. I find that it saves me sooo much time and I love seeing how capable I am. I go with the feeling - When it comes to work, I go with the flow and follow my instincts. I don't force things or push good ideas to the back burner. Instead, I switch between projects based on where my mind is at in the moment. This approach has allowed me to make progress in all areas of my life, including creating this website - which I had no time for. I’m a hard worker - And I'm not surprised by my Polish roots where a strong work ethic is ingrained. Once I set my mind on something, I will see it through to completion. To illustrate this point, when my parents went away for a month, I renovated almost their entire house by myself! Things I Love: 🌷 Nature 🐱 Cats 🍵 Cacao 🌄 Sunrises 📸 Photography 🌊 Ocean 🌙 Moon 🧘‍♀️ Stillness 🧖‍♀️ Sensuality 💃 Dance 🌺 Flowers I Have A Desire For Beauty Creating and making beautiful things is my passion. I enjoy photographing nature, taking self-portraits, writing, acting, singing, dancing, drawing, painting, making candles, renovating houses, and designing interiors. Being surrounded by beauty ignites a fire within me, fueling my desire to create more. Nature is my biggest inspiration, its beauty nourishes my soul and helps me feel present and connected. My journey of creativity is also a journey of rediscovering our roots and our true selves, remembering where we came from and who we are. Above All, I'm A Soul Living Inside Of My Body. I completely lost my identity when I quit my job as a game artist. Despite my attempts to discover who I truly was, I found myself becoming more uncertain. However, after engaging in deep healing practices, meditation and surrender, I unexpectedly arrived at a profound realization. We are all interconnected as one spirit, inhabiting our bodies as individual souls. These bodies serve as vehicles for our souls and connect us with the natural world. This understanding is now crystal clear to me. I Live In A Van On January 3rd, 2023, my long-term dream finally came true. Since then, I have been living and travelling across Europe with my phenomenal partner, whom I choose not to mention online out of respect for his privacy. I don't follow the pre-designed way of life, when I had a realization about the path I was on, I took immediate action to get off the conveyor belt. It was not the future or life I desired. Now, I am living and enjoying life more than ever before. I’m A Minimalist I find that the less I own, the happier I am and the more free my mind feels. Our minds absorb everything we see, so when our surroundings are cluttered, it can be overwhelming. By minimizing my possessions, I reduce the strain on my mind, allowing it to focus on more significant things such as business ideas or exploring the depths of my consciousness. There are other benefits too, like having less to think about, getting dressed quickly, less tidying up, better memory recall, and saving money.
